Leather and Meat Without Killing Animals (Video)

Monday, March 28, 2016

A fascinating example of science meeting compassion. This method of production can be "clean, open, and regarded... Unlike the hidden, guarded, and remote factories where leather and meat are produced today." Andras Forgacs shows us his promising innovation in 3D printing and bio-innovation, and that we are slowly but surely moving past the killing of animals as our resource.

"Growing" meat (considerably just meat alternatives in my book) is just one of many amazingly progressive agricultural and scientific movements geared towards ending world hunger, reducing animal consumption, and protecting our environment. If you're interested, follow my new TED account for my favorite videos on how to live, farm, and eat more soundly: https://www.ted.com/profiles/5772805 .

No matter how inspiring it can be to watch intellectual discuss the theories and cultures they are creating in labs and boardrooms, we can't hand over ALL our problems of the world to who we think are "the specialists." The minute we do that, we feel that these environmental ailments are a weight off our own shoulders, and the problems perpetuate.

Remember to try take small steps in your own daily life to help yourself and others. Consume less animal products, get politically active/vote/sign petitions, recycle, garden if you can, buy used & vintage (esp. leather if at all!), whatever you can do - try.  It feels good and positive energy will start to follow you for it.

  1. I have been a vegan for several months now and I was wondering what your opinion is on continuing to use the leather goods we owned before we stopped using animal products? I just have a few in the form of purses and wallets, but would it be wasteful to just stop using them altogether? Or does it make a bigger statement about rejecting animal products to stop using them?

  5. I would assume it’s a great book, but I wouldn’t want to stop doing something I like and something which doesn't bring any harm. Something like playing the best online slot machines at 777 Spin Slot. Cause you actually can win there, and it's not like other scam casinos. However, I'm sure that one day, I might also read the book you talk about.
